Preflop
Normally I always 3bet this, but this player was unkown and had such a stacksize that if I 3bet, and he 4bets, I need to call right? And a lot of these shorties are playing very very snug and AQ might not even be ahead against their open range. That's why I just called in position.
Flop
Because he bets so little on the flop it made me think he just has overcards and is trying to prevent me betting more with a small bet. I think he has nothing and I think it needs just a little raise to make him fold, and if he does continue he is likely to be quite strong. These shortstacks usually fold a lot if they have nothing. So I do make a little raise with my overcards. I need roughly 42% fold+hand-equity to justify the raise.
But instead of folding according to my plan, he called, which made me think he has something like a Ten. Overpairs he would re-raise.
Turn
Turn comes an Ace and he checks. I thought he either has AT, or this is such a scarecard form him that he always folds if I bet, so I check back planning to bet the river. Also to induce riverbluffs from him, acting like the Ace is a scarecard for me.
River
But, he leads out half-pot on the river. I am still thinking he has AT here, I would like to bet a bit more myself, but I just call.
