1/2 No-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.67 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q♠, Q♥
3 folds, MP3 raises to $4,00, Hero raises to $14,00, BU raises to $36,00, 3 folds, Hero calls $22,00.

Flop: ($79,00) 6♥, T♣, 7♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, BU bets $42,00, Hero folds, BU gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $79,00

Called this because for the amount of hands guy had 5% 4-bet (elephant stats) and imo many players do this move preflop (somebody steals, somebody re-steals and villain re-re-steals).

I checked the flop to know what will he do. If he checks then I will give him weak range, if he bets like small I might think he has something bad and I'm shipping it.

Hello,

I am just 5betting it preflop against such 4bet, I don't like Calling and then Check/Folding on such flop, do you really expect him to give up any of those hands what you beat? I don't think so, he will even bet worse hand there, Check/Raise flop.

Best regards,
Rensu

4bet stats on 300 hands are somehow irrelevant, don't you think?

Against a 4Bet, I think you can muck QQ pretty confidently as a standard play. If you feel he is playing with you, then it is a good flop to check raise, isn't it?

I don't understand your intention when you called the 4bet pf than on such board you play ch/fold.

my thoughts on this hand:

- i treat mr as limps. thats why we actually dont 3bet here, but just iso raise

- bu then "3bets" in my eyes and he risks 36 to win 21. since its actually a 4bet it looks rly strong and his play is very profitable in this spot with any2.

- the question in this hand is not if QQ is good vs a 4bet oop. the questions are rather: what is our history with bu? does he 3bet our iso raises? does he bluff 4bet in general? whats his preflop style generally?

a) if he is not too creative and a standard abc fr reg you are up against AA+ basically. u just invested 7 bb and can muck easily.
b) if he understands pos and that there are some moves one can make pre, the questions becomes on what level does he think we are at. does he know, that we "iso raise" liberally here and that we also recognize, that he 4bet bluffs here a decent percentage? if so, i always 5bet small to induce a shove because our 5bet then can easily tell him, that we know exactly what we are doing and punishing him for that. but he then also knows, that if he shoves, we cant do anything here evenn if we knew that he also views the situation as we do.
c) if he is not on a too advanced level in this spot, but his range consists of more than AA+ here (esp many AK just for combination reasons) i could imagine calling his 4bet. on the flop then i see 2 lines. c/rai and punishing his cbets in this spot. c/c looks way too strong then imo. or, what i rly like here, donking flop, turn and river very very small 1/6 or 1/5 on every street. betting that small to induce a shove from anything like AK or and draw he picked up with his bluff 4bet range. this donk line just works if he is at least a bit aggressive post.

i personally would not call this 4bet too often, actually hardly ever. i just decide on which level he is in this spot and what our history and flow/dynamic is up to now. small 5bet for value and calling a shove or just folding vs his 4bet would be my line here. _cool:

[hopefully i wrote my thoughts down logically .... :f_biggrin: ]
