Well, this is a read-based decision of course. Have you ever seen him show down a terrible hand after playing like this? AJ is a pretty marginal hand, because its equity isn't thaaat great against Kx Qx hands (60-65%), the J doesn't often dominate his hand (as AK and AQ can do vs Kx and Qx), and of course there's AK and AQ that has you dominated.

Basically it depends on how light you think he's shoving... AQ is probably easy call but AJ is a little problematic. It's very hard to evaluate without other reads than "he had been pretty spewy" :tongue:
