PokerStars, Hold'em No Limit - $0.02/$0.05 - 6 players
Hand delivered by Upswing Poker

UTG: $6.42 (128 bb)
MP: $4.88 (98 bb)
CO: $5.73 (115 bb)
BU: $29.96 (599 bb)
SB (Hero): $5.00 (100 bb)
BB: $5.31 (106 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.07) Hero is SB with J A
3 players fold, BTN calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.25, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.55) 5 4 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.40, BTN calls $0.40

What sizing do you prefer on this kind of a flop in 3bet pot?
Would it be different in the non-3bet pot?

Half pot is big enough. You're hand doesn't need protection and out of position you want to keep the pot smaller. If villain raised on you it will be a tough spot with only a draw and 2 over cards.

I agree about half pot should be enough in 3-bet pot OOP.

You could bet half pot in 3bet pots on boards with T and lower with your entire range and probably cant go wrong with that.

I prefer betting 33-40 % potsize in this spots or even 50 % or checking oop. oop its important to control the potsize, as we have always a disadvantage.

In non-3bet pots sizing can be different as the pot isnt gonna get huge quickly.

Small SPR is better for the OOP player, betting in 3-bet pots lowers the SPR and takes away the IP players advantage although I agree we need to check more from OOP, I think this hand could be check or bet but I don’t like 1/3 from OOP lets V float easily

I go for a little over half pot in raised pot.
In 3bet pot I might half pot it. Maybe a little less. It depends on villain, position and board. This board I might bet less than half as I don't have a str8 to go with my flush and villain might get funky with a pp since there are no overs.

If we had back door str8 draw to go with this is 60% pot okay?
