PokerStars Zoom, Hold'em No Limit - $0.02/$0.05 - 6 players
Hand delivered by Upswing Poker

UTG (Hero): $5.14 (103 bb)
MP: $5.07 (101 bb)
CO: $5.25 (105 bb)
BU: $8.25 (165 bb)
SB: $3.13 (63 bb)
BB: $3.40 (68 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.07) Hero is UTG with 5 A
Hero raises to $0.15, 2 players fold, BTN calls $0.15, 1 fold, BB calls $0.10

Flop: ($0.47) Q 4 T (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($0.47) T (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $0.15, BB calls $0.15, Hero calls $0.15

River: ($0.92) K (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.66, BU folds, BB raises to $2.86, Hero calls $2.20

I could c-bet flop but I think OOP check is also fine. No need to be the turn and the villain's bet gives me good odds to call.
I completed my flush so I bet but the villain raises me pretty big. It's tough to fold but I lose against J9s I think only.. and boats (but according to the post-flop game I don't assume he has one)

Interesting hand, thank you for sharing.

He could have backed into KT. I don’t think even a straight plays this way on the river I think he has a boat much of the time when he bets nearly 2x pot on the river. If you think his range has straights maybe its tough to fold but I always run into the nuts when I make these calls and I would be pretty sick in this spot on the river,

I forgot KT, that's true.

Well raising straight would be weird but smaller flushes perhaps. I would be mostly worried about QT. Would imagine KT would want to protect on turn and Jh9h would be pretty nice semibluff.

So to me question would be is villain going to raise flushes like this or is he capable of bluffing with some KQ type holding. I would imagine bluffs in these spots are very rare though?

Most of the time I would check to the aggressor on the river, but multi way the change villain will check back is huge. After the check/raise of the short stack it's tough for me to get away with the best flush possible and you lose only against a full house, quads or J9 of hearts.

Cheers,

I'd definitely cebt ~1/3 pot OTF here.
1. To deny Villain's equity
2. To build the pot in case you make the flush, or hit an A
