Hi there!

PokerStars, $1.29 + $0.21 - Hold'em No Limit - 25/50 (6 ante) - 7 players

UTG: 3,790 (76 bb)
MP: 2,626 (53 bb)
MP+1 (Hero): 1,555 (31 bb)
CO: 2,171 (43 bb)
BU: 945 (19 bb)
SB: 1,273 (25 bb)
BB: 1,140 (23 bb)

Pre-Flop: (117) Hero is MP+1 with J♥ J♦
UTG calls 50, 1 fold, Hero raises to 200, CO calls 200, 3 players fold, UTG calls 150

Flop: (717) 4♣ J♣ T♣ (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets 600, CO calls 600, UTG raises to 1,200, MP+1 (Hero) folds, CO calls 600

Turn: (3,717) J♠ (2 players)
UTG bets 2,384 (all-in), CO calls 765 (all-in)

River: (5,247) 8♠ (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: 5,247

Showdown:
UTG shows Q♥ A♣ (a pair of Jacks)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 43%, Flop: 36%, Turn: 0%, River: 0%)

CO shows T♥ T♠ (a full house, Tens full of Jacks)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 57%, Flop: 64%, Turn: 100%, River: 100%)

CO wins 5,247

CO used to be quite tight. I got suspicious seeing him call this large bet on the draw.
UTG played loose but did not show that degree of aggression before.
Do you think the fold at the flop was right at that point? Any other thoughts?

Cheers! :)

I would Cbet the flop a lot smaller. Around 300 is big enough I think to get value. As played I wouldn't fold for only 600 chips more and I would at least call with in mind if you are behind you have still enough outs to improve.

Cheers,

Never fold a set on the flop in low stakes games

Thanks for your advice! I replayed that hand some times so I won't do that mistake again (hopefully). Why exactly would you bet smaller as a cbet?

Cheers!

To keep the pot under control and top set doesn't need to much protection with 3 flush cards on this board and if villain has a draw he/she isn't folding on any bet size.
