Hello,

How would you go about playing this hand? Villain was playing pretty standard throughout the game. Did not notice anything unusual about his play.

PokerStars, $1.78 + $0.22 - Hold'em No Limit - 200/400 (25 ante) - 3 players
Hand delivered by Upswing Poker

BU (Hero): 4,068 (10 bb)
SB: 3,108 (8 bb)
BB: 6,324 (16 bb)

Pre-Flop: (675) Hero is BTN with 2 A
Hero raises to 800, 1 fold, BB calls 400

Flop: (1,875) A 5 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 3,243 (all-in), BB folds

Shove preflop. A2o might be reasonable to minraise-fold but with suited we definitely have profitable open shove spot and we dont want to raise-fold or raise-call. As played I would bet flop 600-800 with plan to shove lot of turns. Issue in shoving is you force hands to fold which you have in very bad shape but which could continue versus small cbet.

Push would be standard. If both villains are tight I wouldn't mind the min raise /fold strategy.

Cheers,

Betting 800 on the flop would be better indeed for value and protection.
