The V is a reg, 24/20/af3.3/3B:11/ATTSTL:35, 2k hands

This reg uses big bets, I imagine for FE, value, and thin value.

PokerStars - $0.50 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 102.82 BB
SB: 100 BB
Hero (BB): 108.5 BB
UTG: 104 BB
MP: 104.5 BB
CO: 114.52 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♠ 4♥

fold, fold, fold, fold, SB raises to 3 BB, Hero calls 2 BB

Flop: (6 BB, 2 players) 8♥ A♣ 3♠
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: (6 BB, 2 players) Q♥
SB bets 8.56 BB, Hero calls 8.56 BB

River: (23.12 BB, 2 players) 4♠
SB bets 32.94 BB, Hero ? ?

Solver says flatting pre is correct, turn is good, river is shove.

Thoughts?

You have a bluff catcher I think on the turn and river. I don't think shoving is profitable. I don't think villain will call with worse or fold better hands.

I suppose we would shove as hand is potentially absolute top of our range. Unless we have 5♥:2♥: in our range. But I do wonder if we really beat over half of villain call range.

Solver says,

Call = 0.1% 39.33EV
All IN = 99.9% 40.17EV

They are not that far apart in EV but jam 99.9% of the time?

I was surprised by this because it didn't feel like a jam on river at all to me.

Indeed, but than you need to expect villain has the range solver thinks. Interesting if that would be a realistic range.

Solver thinks it’s a case of suck and resuck most of the time and the range like AK.

Edit: wrong thread but corrected the comment.

Isnt that because solver likes to be balanced ? So its a close or same EV spot and solver prefers to jam because its also jamming this and this hand and also a bluff so it needs A4 to jam ? If thats the case it probably becomes more a call then a jam because we dont need to be that balanced ?.

Solver is right in this case so I give solver credit here. Although this V is capable of bet/folding unless he has a different policy in SB vs BB battles.

It's funny because most of my posts in regards to regs is played against the same opponent.

PokerStars - $0.50 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

River: (23.12 BB, 2 players) 4♠
SB bets 32.94 BB, Hero calls 32.94 BB

SB shows 3♣ Q♣ (Two Pair, Queens and Threes)
(Pre 39%, Flop 23%, Turn 82%)
Hero shows A♠ 4♥ (Two Pair, Aces and Fours)
(Pre 61%, Flop 77%, Turn 18%)
Hero wins 85 BB

This is the same V that I bluffed all in with missed flush draw, he tank folded in that hand.

If I shove, would he call it off? IMHO, I doubt it because this V is a pro.

I don't think so, but this is a hand villain could call a shove with.

The villain thinks, "Could he do this with AKo?"

Then he comes to his senses, "Where was the 3bet pre?"

And then voila, "I beat nothing but a bluff"

What stuff solver would bluff shove river with? Maybe some 5♥:4♥: type would make sense?

Yeah, A5hh/KJhh/KThh are likely 3betting pre, so that leaves 54hh/65hh/97hh.

But 54hh has better blockers.

For me it would be only call, but shove giving sence.

Nor sure a bluff as shove will work against a over bet on the river.
