BU is a loose regular. His stats over 6k hands sample are 50/30 3-bet 6%cbetting IP all around 40% a little lower than optimum and his folding frequencies postflop quite solid considering he plays so loose pre. Being so loose kinda tells me he cannot be good but I have lots of troubles playing against him despite sticking to my tighter ranges. He is multitabling and always stacking all the maniacs and stations for weeks now making me jealous as hell.

Flop I it´s a good opportunity to punish his stabs ip that are not abc but not complete bad either. Check-raising 17 Wrap+bdfd+blockers is a good opportunity to dominate him sticking around with weaker hands. I 2-barrel the turn to build the pot for the straight on one hand, also ahead against his flop calling range and FE blocking the nutstraight. His turncalls usually are more solid.

On the River I usually bet 1/3 pot with hands like QQxx, 66xx and busted draws like this one. I can fold out lots of hands like twopairs, missed toppairs and all kinda of busted straightdarws which against I i have SDV with my Jacks though. In game I kinda got greedy and wanted to increase FE against stuff like a single Qxxx top-pair, so I betted halfpot. Really do not like it. The fold against his river raise is bitter as hell butI dont think with so few left this guy would ever be bluffing here. He is capable of folding stuff like second nuts at SPR 2 and reads condensed ranges pretty well. That´s what I thought. But I dont know whats in his head in case he is overplaying his 77xx, Q6xx and TTxx in this spot since I am repping obv QQxx otr I mean wtf what is the purpose of going over the top here and why not reshove QQxx otf to protect, am I mirrorthinking here? It just does not make any sense in his shoes to shove the river with his perceived range unless he luckshotted 6666x quads.

Do you think I should have checked the river just give it up or still try to fold out some loose stuff but with a smaller sized blockbet?

Maybe I was playing scared money and just should have shoved the river continuing my story repping QQxx?

The problem would be no blockers at the same time blocking his busted draws and no FE against fulls.

100bb deep flop x-r to stack off is fine but not so sure if it's good being this deep. We get into awkward spot if facing 3bet. Also 100bb deep we don't mind to bet-call most of our QQ or TT on turn but this deep we should be quite selectively betting those when 89 gets there.

If villain shove turn we would have around 75 to call for pot of 230 so we would need over 30% equity. So roughly 15+ outs assuming villain has 89. Point being we probably don't want to get into spot where we have to bet-fold QQ. Also KJJ9 is quite close if we have enough equity to call turn shove. But not quite enough I think.

So overall I could see turn check being fine with good amount of sets and our hand as well. It's better card for BU range also so I would not be surprised if it's viable spot for range check or close to it.

So to me turn and river big bets seems bit questionable as our story somewhat changes from having straight into boat. There are some hands that make sense of course like QQJ9 or maybe KJQQ which can still bet-call turn. Also QQ88 heavily blocking 98 but unblocking most straight draws. But we should be careful when bluffing in spot where only very specific combos make lot of sense versus thinking players.

Issue with our hand is heavily blocking draws and not having boat blockers so I would just give up river most likely.

If you do not like the X/r i guess you would opt to check-call? I think the X/r is still fine otherwise missing value against loose calling ranges, but the second Jack blocking my own straightouts hurts me so I might better check-call this particular combo.

I agree the turn bet is not the best, despite the nutblocker. It´s kinda locking the board texture down and for this we are not going to have high frequencies here.

Also agree that barreling turn and river is actually not telling a quite belieavable story, I though a smallish blockbot still credibly tell the story of the nutstraight but probably I would not have played the straight actually like this, rather checking it. Check-folding river looks good to me too in hindsight.

I think he would be bet-calling stuff otf like naked oesd, mid-pair+gs or bottom-2pair .

This deep I would probably go more for x-c. Maybe x-r with two bdfd. But as you said we also have more potential wrap type hands.

I checked this spot yesterday and found one point interesting:

So from wraps nut wraps almost never go for x-r. Only AKJ9 with two bdfd does it. AKQJ will x-r 100% though and AKJT with bdfd will also x-r. I mean it make sense that blocking strong made hands will decrease chance to run into sets and having pair give showdown value. But at same time hand like AKJ9 would feel quite strong with possibility to dominate weaker wraps. So not sure if passive line is sort of trapping. Of course some of the lower wraps do have more outs to hit straight. So I suppose its maybe combination of that and perhaps BU betting range blocking more outs from nut wraps. Might be partially also for protecting call range.

Blockbetting river could make sense but its decent spot for BU to have some bluff raises with some flopped two pairs if he has balls for it.

200bb deep its also spot where especially dry type of QQ doesnt necessarily want to 3bet especially if blocking TT. So hand like QQT9 would make lot of sense for villain here. Plus solver wise we dont actually x-r that much TT even 100bb deep so 200bb deep its going to be even less. Still QQT blocking its own boat outs not good think for 3betting flop. Kind of spot where BU heavily isolate itself versus wraps/QQ with 3bet and wraps are doing ok versus weaker QQ.

Yea I can remember from some vids I watched, there is the rule of thumb that we are more happy to raise with less nuttiness due to the lack of visbility. I guess oop we are always happy to have hands strong enough to raise.

I would say it is some part of slowplay. I can remember in a video where I was surprised to hear that the best-case scenario for the 13-nutwrap is always Pot-pot-pot allin at SPR 13 below when the board stays without flush or pair when we are in a SRP ip. That´s shoving 100% onn rivers. Quite aggressive for my taste but I assume a hhand with so much Equity is not allowed to ever be checking-back turns. Since when oop we have to check so much more, I guess the better nutwraps are all hands strong enough to make calldowns or delay the check-raise to the turn.

I know the check-raise is more on the loose side but villain is calling too much. How do you exploit this, if not betting your strong hands. But it seems like he plays very differently against me only making big bets otr with nuts or second nuts or very strong hands but against other players I saw him making highly dubious plays like sticking around with guthots and oesd.

I think one concept that is not directly related to hand is: Should we be in this situation in first place? From open post I got impression hero is/was somewhat annoyed or frustrated by this villain. Which is understandable and most of us have been in same situation. Aggro player on left having position combined to being deep stacked is always tough combination as deeper stack strengthen positional advantage.

There are different sort of aggro/maniac players obviously. Those with more of blind aggression are not usually issue if you manage to get some good hands. But this guy seemed more of adjusting sort also being able to adjust versus hero playing tighter range. So I would just recommend to analyze in game if this is table you want to continue playing deep stacked, shorter stacked or at all? If other players on table are easier to play against and you see lot of positives to play against them deep stacked then it can make sense to just accept issue of this aggro/tricky opponent. But at that point it is well thought strategical decision.

We dont want to get into situation where we are getting frustrated by aggro and we start to have some ego issues. Potentially kind of starting to "hunt" specific player to show who is the boss. That is form of tilt and not good at all for making profit. This might not be issue for hero here but its something everyone should be aware of and recognize if it start to happen.

But yeah if we were in this specific hand with 100bb effective it would be very standard to x-r flop and pot turn and hand would be over. Here with deeper stacks our threshold to commit our stack will increase making it tougher to combat that positional advantage villain have. Even if he is somewhat too aggro but is able to put hero into ranges and not overplay hands clearly.
