PokerStars Zoom, Hold'em No Limit - $0.01/$0.02 - 6 players
Hand delivered by Upswing Poker

UTG: $2.35 (118 bb)
MP: $2.00 (100 bb)
CO (Hero): $2.45 (123 bb)
BU: $2.23 (112 bb)
SB: $2.86 (143 bb)
BB: $2.05 (103 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is CO with K A
2 players fold, Hero raises to $0.06, BTN 3-bets to $0.21, 2 players fold, Hero 4-bets to $0.64, BTN calls $0.43

Flop: ($1.31) 3 3 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.78, BTN raises to $1.59 (all-in), CO (Hero) folds

I always struggle with AK hands. Should you go broke with that hand preflop?

1) preflop: I was planning to go broke on a shove (don't know if that is a profitable play)
2) on the flop: I think check fold would have been the best choice. What hand will he ever fold after a 4bet
preflop.
as played, I had to make the call... only hand in his range that I don't get the odds, is AA.

What are your ideas?

1. Seems allright to 4bet and go broke, but villain depended. Against tight villains it's most likely better to just call the 3bet.
2. If you Cbet around 50c is big enough. Now you committed with 2 over cards on a dry board. Off course check/fold is most likely better. Villain has a lot of over pairs in his/her range.

Cheers,

Hello,

In this hand it seems to me that the error is in the bet sizes.

4bet x2.5 is enough and leaves room for him to push you with a wider range. At that size you isolate yourself, especially CO vs BU who may think your 4bet is bluffing and push you ATs+, AJo+, KQs and 88+
By betting less pf, on the flop you have a smaller pot that allows you to bluff with a Cbet of 33%, and with Over Cards you would not be committed.

Hero 4bet $0.52
Villain Call $0.52
Flop Pot $1.07
Hero Cbet $0.35
villain push $1.71

Against a villain push you have to win 30% of the time

As you play it, you have to win 18% of the time and against this range you have 28%; therefore you would have to pay.

Mesa: 4♥3♥3♠
       Equity   Ganar  Empate
CO     28.76%  25.82%   2.94% { AdKc }
BU     71.24%  68.30%   2.94% { JJ, KhKs, QdQh, QdQs, QdQc, TdTh, TdTs, TdTc, AhKh, AhQh, AhJh, AhTh }
