PokerStars Zoom, Hold'em No Limit - $0.01/$0.02 - 6 players
Hand delivered by Upswing Poker

UTG: $1.77 (89 bb)
MP: $3.76 (188 bb)
CO: $2.05 (103 bb)
BU: $2.01 (101 bb)
SB: $1.93 (97 bb)
BB (Hero): $2.00 (100 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.03) Hero is BB with T K
UTG raises to $0.04, 4 players fold, Hero calls $0.02

Flop: ($0.09) 7 5 K (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $0.02, Hero raises to $0.08, UTG raises to $0.14, Hero calls $0.06

Turn: ($0.37) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $0.36, Hero calls $0.36

River: ($1.09) 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $1.05, BB (Hero) folds

I don't know why I played the hand the way I played it.

a) avoid calling preflop, so I don't get into this kind of mess.
b) Don't know what to do on the flop. Maybe should have just called?
c) should definitely have folded on the turn...

what are your thoughts?

You said it all on a).
If you'd be playing IP, the call would be "OKish", though not reccomended. Playing the hand OOP, fold and save yourself some $ and problems.

You are playing zoom, facing an open by UTG. He could have just folded and see another hand instantly, probably in a better position. What would you open from UTG knowing you'd likely play the hand OOP? That's what you'll be playing against, when calling the UTG raise, with the aggravant that you'll be the one playing OOP.

Forget you posted 1bb. Position is position and a fold is a fold. Trying to recover 1bb will most of the times make you lose more.

Hello,

Although against the UTG range you are dominated, I don't see anything wrong with defending as 2bb is the OR.
But postflop when you hit a TP it will be to play a small/medium pot.
For that he would just call his 1bb Cbet and revalue on the turn. By reraising you are isolating yourself and knocking down their bluffs.
What worse hands pay you a re-raise?

I expect only a flush draw would call the raise on the flop what you beat. After the min 3bet I would be suspicious. Turn seems like a easy fold against a pot size bet with top pair weak kicker.

Cheers,
