So this table and this player had been absurdly wild. This hand happened bit earlier (not my default line):

So to actual hand then. We get AKK8ds and this maniac fellow 3bets. Not a surprise and his range is lets say at least 30%. So our hand is mandatory cold 4bet and most likely I would not be able to fold to 5bet. But not sure how AA heavy his range would be for 220bb stack depth. But yeah even if we had read that he shoves only AA this would still be mandatory 4bet-fold.

Anyway I was just wondering about postflop side. We flop decent with mid pair and nfd but I felt quite unsure as SPR is still 3. WIth SPR 2 I would be totally fine to bet on smaller side and stack off versus raise. Decided to take free card in position now though.

Turn is blank and opponent pot. This is far from good spot but this type of villain is going to blast wide here. So sometimes KK is best hand or good amount of time does give some form of equity versus his range. So I dont really plan to check flop to fold turn except maybe on some really bad ones like 7 or T.

River gives me flush but also pairs the board. Would be ugly spot if villain shoved. Though having 8 I would likely look him up. When he checks though I assumed I am good basically always but getting value might also be really hard. SPR is like 0.65 or so which leaves options for shove and perhaps some really small sizing like 20-30€. Kind of really trying to milk from straight. But yeah no idea if villain can fold flush here.

Maniacs are rarely stack aware in positive way. They often seem to see bigger stacks as an opportunities for bigger prizes and gamble even more than normally.

Checking back puts us in a nasty spot as he probably pots turn quite often, especially on all non-spades (if he is maniac postflop, your info said nothing about that).

If he is aggro postflop, checking back puts us in nasty spot turn and then on the river unless the spade comes. SPR 3 is still quite low, lower than normal 3bet pot. We need 42% to stack off. I am very sure that we have it versus his calling range, and then we have some FE. Potting is quaranteed +EV, checking back is not (as you can't call pot bet on the turn with naked fd and fold river if you don't hit it).
