Hi, let me introduce myself, I'm Juan and I'm a Spanish 32yo player. I started in this school around 14 years ago when I met 18.
I played for almost 2 years until Spanish regulations closed the .com poker software so I had to stop playing because it was almost impossible to play, I also started to focus in my studies.
I finished my Bachelor's and I would like to consider myself a good Computer Scientist, with almost 5 years of experience. I moved to Ireland for better job opportunities and improving my English skills (sorry if I make any mistake, it's really hard for me) and, a few months ago, I realised living in Ireland I could play poker again!
So I downloaded GGPoker without intention to return regularly (sorry, I didn't track the account) and deposited 20$ for fun, had no intention at the beginning of continue playing. Quickly I turned those 20$ in 80$ and decided to start tracking my earnings, it was an earning rhythm I didn't consider normal. After tracking, I was earning at around 27bb/100, which was quite impressive IMO. Maybe an upswing, but I was a solid NL10 player in the day, so I switched to NL5.
At NL5, it was clear the players were better, in fact I even started bluff catching bad bluffs with success (something that it's never recommended at NL5 at least). My earnings were smaller, but still pretty solid, around 12bb/100.
At 120$, I decided to give it a try to NL10 again. For my surprise, I didn't feel players were better at all, I would say they are kinda the same, just a little bit less sploitable and there are some aggresive regulars, but it's hard to locate them in this software. After around 5k hands in NL10 I feel I'm in an upswing, but I am also playing good IMO.
I decided to start blogging again, but this time in the English community which is probably much bigger than the Spanish one since I don't think there are many Spanish players tbh.
I would like to start sharing just the first NL10 graph, and some hands I would like the people to review with me, but my current level doesn't lets me to share pictures sadly ![]()
The thing I feel most prod of is to keep the Non-Showdown winnings on check, something I was never able to do back in the day. I know the sample is small, but at least I feel it's a really good sign of doing the things well.
