Hello PokerStrategy community. I am a long time follower with very limited success in my poker career. The biggest payday of my rollercoaster love affair with poker was a 2nd place finish at a local casino which was a modest 18k; but i have now decided that poker will be my next career choice. Doesn't seem like a wise idea considering my history with the game but I've never let stupid ideas stop me from doing things before so why should this be any different.
I have put aside a bankroll of $10k, which I intend to use for online poker and my local casino. I will have no other source of income but i have managed to store enough funds away that i have 12 months of savings to cover all my living expenses. That may sound like a lot but I've managed to get my expenses way down so i don't have to stress about not being able to feed myself.
My mission for the next year is to be able to support myself with my poker earnings. I will be earnestly looking for a coach to help me on this journey, so your recommendations are welcomed and when i have decided on 1 i will let you know.
That being said i am currently playing NL5 on GGPoker, under the name of Cillingtime. I haven't received any PokerStrategy points yet(unsure as to why) but fortunately the videos and strategies available to me on bronze are helpful enough at this point. I currently have an online bankroll of $130 from a starting value of $100. The videos on NL5 have been extremely helpful in slowly building my confidence and my bankroll. I will also be playing the 1/3NL game at my local casino, once a week. I will be buying in for $500 on each visit to the Casino with no rebuys. I have 3 visits under my belt which netted me a positive $120.
I am always open to suggestions on how best to divide my time up with studying and playing and I look forward to having a very good relationship with the PokerStrategy community.
