I was ITM in this tourney and pushing into the chip leader. There were 3 players left: (sorry about the lack of proper hand history...)

Player A (BU) = 770 chips
Player B (me, SB) = 965 chips
Player C (BB) = 11765 chips, i.e. massive chip leader

Blinds are 250/500. Player A in BU folds.

I have A7o in SB. Should I push into the chip leader?

The chip leader will always call me and I have about a 40% change of busting since they are calling with atc. I could wait until player A blinds out but there is always the chance that they win a push later on and force me to be the short stack and finish 3rd anyway. The difference between 2nd and 3rd in money was about 4 buy ins.

Hi all,

Given that paying the SB leaves you with 965-250 or 715 ie less than BU (we will bust out earlier if we keep folding), I think A7o is a mandatory push here. If we had a slightly larger chiplead on BU though, or more big blinds to try and wait it out with, folding is fine.
