Everyone's been there, everyone knows what it feels like and nobody likes it. Losses. Some people get demotivated or depressed, some go on tilt and blow their money away, some just take a break, but that gnawing feeling of having invested your time into losing money just doesn't go away. It can stay for a few minutes or as long as several weeks. So I wondered, what do people do to make themselves feel good again after an ugly losing session?

I, for one, like to watch comedy. Something funny to relax my brain and kick back as I laugh my worries away makes me forget all about the losses I suffered ten minutes ago. Alternatively, I go outside and get together with friends to do something. After all, it's summer, so the weather is perfect for it.

Talk with people that don't play poker, allways helps, but it get's harder and harder to talk about non poker related things the further i go.

When I lose a buy-in in one hand I usually stop playing for the day because I get the feeling I dont play well after that happens. By doing this I keep my losses at a minimum and make sure to play my best poker at all times.

My tilt doesnt last long because of this and its very easy to come back and win the stack again the next day or the day after.

Look at the EV line If it still goes up but the actual goes down, then I think, ow well at least I am playing OK!

Sporting helps after a horrible session. It's great to clear your mind.

If i have a realy bad sesion just stop playing, go smoke a cigarete. Come back whatch some good movie and try to play again. If i have a couple of loosing days that means i need to take a brake get drunk and stoned. ;(

I usually have a bit of a whinge, realise I've never used any of my own money, and take one "Toughen Up" pills out of my bulk storage jar.

Smoking to solve stress?

lol.

After a big bad beat or big money bubble
i enter a matrix supertorbo table ( thats 9ppl that play each other on 4tbls and start with 300 chips)
with the lowest buyin 7+80 something like that

( my regolar buyin is 30-50$)

i never play more then 1 tbl in the usual
so its good change and get my mind of the loss
and not harm my bankroll with that small buy in

Setting stop/loss limits can help i think.
For example you stop playing when you have lost 4BI's.
After a while - 4 BI's will become normal imo.

i tilt and buy shit online then wack off...it does the job
