Last night i won a $30 rebuy tournament at the local casino

4 players left ,i was chip leader with around 40 - 45 bbs

Im in the sb with 44, i raise to just over half of the bb stack (around 7 bb) he calls....the flop is 5 6 7 rainbow i go all in he calls,he has 7 8 os the river is an 8.

after he lost he abused the shit out of me lol. this old man in a wheelchair had quite the tongue on him.Wanted to abuse him back but i needed to focus. For some reason its bugging me.

We did a chop at the end, $600 is sexy

Currently some what abbreviated, soz if i dont make sense

Anyone that calls half his stack with 87 shouldn't whine.

That being said - did he have 7 bb or did you raise 7 bb and he had 14? Because I can't say I'm much of a fan of the 7 BB raise there - and if he only had 7 BB I'd just put him all-in preflop.

Given the preflop play I'm also pushing 44 on a 567 rainbow board with half a potsize bet left.

he had roughly 12 bbs in total, perhaps i should of just shoved preflop?

One of the other players on the table agreed with him, thats why im a little confused

Well if he has 12 BB you can either push (prolly best) or make a small bet of ~2,5. He will be in a hard position to call for his full stack and you usually have at least a flip if he does.

With that raise size you put yourself in a tough spot on the flop since - if he calls and donk shoves a flop which usually has 3 overcards you have 3:1 odds and no idea where you stand.
