Hi!

Known players:
[tg]Position_Stack:hands/vp$ip/RaisePreflop/AF/WTS/ORL/BBvsSteal/W$SD;Hero$142,65:///////;BB$71,77:30/37/27/1,4/55/43/0/50;[/tg]
2/4 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.67 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q♠, 5♠
3 folds, Hero raises, BB calls.

Flop: (4,00 SB) 9♥, J♦, Q♦ (2 players)
Hero bets, BB raises, Hero 3-bets, BB calls.

Turn: (5,00 BB) 5♥ (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (7,00 BB) 2♣ (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

This is probably not a good spot for c/r with initiative since huge part of his range is pairs and he will check them behind. But there are also busted draws?!
He seems quite SD bounde so I rather do value bet.If he raises I call
Final Pot: 9,00 BB

hi,

if he raises this river-blank you should definitely call.
You analyzed this spot quite good yourself already. I dont have much thoughts to add.
Against a passiv SD-bound player it is always better to bet. Because even if there are busted draws it is not said that he will bet them. So better get your value by betting.

Against aggressiv c/r makes more sense because a) he will bet busted draws (sometimes he would also bluffraise them on the river) but for sure he will b) "fake"valuebet his midpairs more likely than a passiv player.

The Flopraise can be anything from a freecard-attend to a cheap-SD move with a midpair so it does not reduce the range much.

Hi Dawnfall26,

this guy is almost unknown and he probably becomes rather a good than a bad player. He has to know that the rivercard is no scaring you at all so he will check behind a lot hands here as he puts you on a draw which won't call anyway so I like a bet more too. If the river is more scary he might not valuebet a lot with his weaker hands and it might complete draws for him too so this might be very expensive for your so against I like a valuebet more as well.

So to make a check/raise possible here the board has to be different. Any idea about that? (I can't remember when I check/raised the river with iniative the last time. ^^)
