so im playing FL50 just to see what it is all about.
didnt read up on strategy but with over 250k hands on NL i am by no means an amateur.
is it me or is it a lot softer than nl50?

hehe, dont know what you mean by softer. FL50 is pretty easy but when variance will hit you you will take those words back:)
There is no such thing as FL50.
You play 0.25/0.50. ♦
And yes, it probably has more bad players than NL50, because NL50 is much higher stake than 0.25/0.50... just look at the pot sizes. 
Also the average FL 0.25/0.5 player has no idea what he's doing ( Well, maybe ill call this 1 bet with my 37o..)
ok so .25/.50 is low stakes?
according to BRM i can shortstack NL50 and play FL.25/.50
should i slightly disregard it and go to the .5/1 if i want a real taster?
0.25/0.50 is still micro stakes, low stakes begin at 0.5/1.
With SSS experiences you're probably used to waiting for good cards so FL FR would suit you, but I personally find SH games a lot more interesting, so maybe you could try 0.25/0.50 SH. What is your BR anyway?

i would have thought variance was smaller in FL than NL.
I tried some FL and i like the game but for me it feels rather tought. I play on iPoker and half of the table were tight-agressive regulars (if not more).
That was FR, i don't want to go to short-handed because i read that the variance there is a killer.
Anyway, instead of FL0.50$ i went to SnG's 2$. There you can hardly find someone who IS a regular, and a bad one. I'm currently playing 5$ which is about the same story.
After more than 600SnG's i did some searching on sharkscope for players i see around or which are multitabling. I think i found 4 or 5 who had a positive ROI.
