Hello fellow PokerStrategists!
Today we bring you another Fixed Limit quiz called "Made Hands on Ugly Boards".
Ugly spots: nobody likes them, but every successful player has to learn how to deal with them in the most profitable way. When can you give up a made hand on a very drawy board - and when shouldn't you?
Draw-heavy boards open the doors for all kinds of aggressive bluffs or semi-bluffs, so it's really hard to let go of your made hands. There are, however, situations where you just donate your money to the opponent if you miss the window of opportunity to get out of the hand.
As is often the case, you have to find the right balance - it's crucial to learn when to hold on and when to let go. In order to do this, you have to get the right feeling for equity and you need to improve your hand reading capability.
All of this is irrelevant if you can't classify your opponent's type, though - you have to put the reads and stats to use in order to make the correct assessement. When you put all of these pieces together, you will have the ability to navigate through even the most difficult spots.
