[Closed] Economics Dissertation and poker.

How about a topic on poker pros earning from rakeback or points conversions by mass grinding? These are breakeven players in terms of winnings but the income they have are based on rakeback and conversion of loyalty points.

I am not an economic major but I hope this would help.

I'm slipping off topic a bit................but when I posted something like what you said above a few weeks back I received a heap of abuse from PS members........ how dare we suggest that break even play is 'good'

I suggest it's great, good, and quite an accomplishment to be proud of. I further suggest that if you are a losing player, just staying above the rake is quite an accomplishment.

For some reason people here are really blinded to just how thin the edges are in poker. Not having to tip and the smaller rake of online poker do help, but when you are first learning the game just becoming break-even is something to be proud of.

Yup, making profit with loyality points and rakeback is just another proof that Poker is not something like casino slots and blah blah blah That's how i convince others for example. I can break even and still profit just by playing. If i became a robot and played 8-10 hours/day, like normal employees do, i'd have one of the best salaries in my country. ~ 3-4 times above the average.
