Well, he's got the K in :spade:, and by calling the flop bet the pot will be big enough for a push on the Turn. So I guess it's quite alright to jus call him and give him the chance of barreling turn again.

Interesting, Dandycal basically just said what I was thinking at the time. (before I decided to just shove flop isolating myself against a better range)

I guess both lines are fine, but how can I work out which has the higher EV?

considering this is kind of 3-bet pot and the fact those small (<1/2potsize) donkbets are usually sign of weak made hand I would go for a call on the flop and give him another chance to barrel. If he doesn't, the pot is already so big you can easily push turn IP. And as last K♠ also gives you a nice redraw in case he would actually have a FD.

How about raising preflop a little bigger to shove it directly on the Flop :)?

Now the pot is $27 against $32 ES while a 3bet of let's say $14 gives the pot a boost of +$4 -> $31 against $30 ES

I don't think you need to protect so calling is fine and let him do his work. But mostly I prefer 3betting bigger against a minraise to jam it postflop immediately with Top 4%

Gerv - Why is it that you like to 3bet bigger preflop? Do you happen to know its of higher EV or do you just like the simplicity of being able to jam flop?
