Sorry for simple quesiton
But am I right in thinking that you are only allowed to view forum posts based on your current ranking (i.e Bronze, Silver, etc etc) ?

Hello HarveyFP,
Some forums require a higher status, for example the BSS NL20 - NL50 sample hand board. This requires a Silver status. Also the Heads up forum requires Gold status. Most forums however do not need a certain status.
