Do you like germans?

Hello,

this is just another poker blog written by two germans living in cologne. We both know each other from livepoker since 2006 and played together a lot. We would like to keep you interested by posting our way through the limits as we both start at the microlimit 6max games. Of course we'd love to see some discussion about played hands or poker related stuff in general. I hope you will enjoy this as we surely will.

Hi!

So this will be my first post in the english forum. Please excuse any mistakes i make, due to my english writing skills aren't the best.

Anstaendig already told you how we met and got into to this really sick and addicting poker stuff.

I am 27 years old, living near to Cologne in Germany and started playing poker almost the same time as anstaendig did. Having fun at live games, these small live donkaments here in Cologne and somehow got into the world of onlinepoker, trying to make some money. Unfortunately i do not have anything like an overall graph, but I think that I am like breakeven or slightly winning player overall in poker (including live session at the casinos where I lost some money). Highest limit i reached in onlinepoker was NL50 playing mostly 6-max NLHE, which is my favourite game (whose isnt't it :)). Then came some tilt cashouts, starting out new, tilt cashout, starting out new and so on. As you can see tilt is one of my mayor problems/leaks.

Since a couple of weeks I re-enjoy playing poker and decided to start again with like $44.08 I had left, on Betfair and see where it takes me. I do not play as much as anstaendig does and my posts and my overall attitude to poker is not as well planned and structured as his attitude is, but I hope you will enjoy reading my updates anyways.

The facts about my plans like BRM, goals etc. will follow, so this will be enough for today.

Thank you for reading and I hope to see you all back here, commentate our posts and just having a good time following our life, trying to get good poker players and hopefully making some money.

BR: $339.51 + $42 (Neteller)
Hands played: 7592
Rake paid (HM stat): $144.17
RB payed by Betfair: $20.02

Overall graph

I also played these 70FPP satellites on stars (had like 3k FPP left) and managed to make T$44 out of it. I think I'll try to sell them in the PS forum and put the money onto my Betfair BR, so it will be a nice BR-boost :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin:

Hello anstaendig,

the diligent work you put in writing your first post is astounding.

Your goals are very well structured but i would not recommend you having goals like hands/achieving some status or bonus. This will put additional pressure on you and your game and will not help you at all to become a better player. After all this is poker all about.

Keep the good work

Ivan

Good point. Thanks. I'm going to think this through..

Today was a sick poker day. I played a lot of hands without any real success. In the end I was down a bit but it didn't concern me at all as I almost everytime shipped my money as a favourite.

Tomorrow I'm gonna play even more hands if possible but first of all I'm gonna think about setting goals for the near and far future which not create any pressure but help me to stick to a certain plan.

Every day I'm asking myself which goal or goals would be perfect for my developement. To find an answer to that question I need to know what I want to accomplish in the first place. While playing Age Of Empires III I thought about it. I'm sure what I want:

  • Become a professional poker player

But how can I become a professional poker player. First we have to declare what a professional is. In my opinion you can call yourself a professional in something if you're able to support yourself with what you do. What does that mean compared to poker? It's probably possible to grind your ass of at 50nl and live with the money you make there but for me I think being a winning player at 200nl is my final goal. At that level it should be easily possible to earn enough money to support yourself.

What is neccessary to become a professional?

  • Professional Attitude
  • Constant work on your game
  • Clear mindset
  • Ability to handle big swings
  • Having fun

You could possibly add many more points to that list but these are the key points(correct me if I'm wrong).

Since I played my first hand in poker I knew this is a game where I want to be good at and especially better than the one's I play with. I always have the ambition to become better than my opponent. I will update my intro post as my goals are new ones. Some for this year but mainly for 2010. Maybe setting goals about hands/status/bonus issues are not that great but to set myself a goal to play around a certain volume of hands might not that bad.

I hope you'll all enjoy my way until I reach my goal.

It's pretty sick in my opinion. At 4nl on TitanPoker you play always versus the same guys. The all have stats between 9/7 and 22/18. I won't say that they're good and not beatable but I can say said I'm currently not playing my A-Game to win money. I played some really bad hands today because I was tired. That's another thing I have to learn.

  • Quit your session when you're in a bad mood or don't feel good.

Decay06 and found some very interesting stuff. We both had around 3.000 FPPs on PokerStars. With these points you can play 70FPP Satelites to the Sunday 1/4 Million. I played nine of them today and managed to earn T$22. I will play those super turbo satelites until I run out of FPPs. Then I'll decide what to do with the money I earned on that way. Of course I'll create an overview in the first post.

Since I have problems with TitanPoker running in my vm I decided to install windows via bootcamp. That takes some time so today I'm not able to play a hand. On top of that my MB might be hacked... I'm not sure yet, I hope not. Tonight there's a friends birthday, tomorrow morning my sister moves to her new flat and after that there's another birthday party. So for now I will play at sunday again.

I've finished installing windows natively on my mac and I have to say it's damn fast. Much better than any VM solution. Some friends are coming over for some nice wodka now... CU! :)

Hi guys,

I didn't play that much these days. As I said in my first post here, I played many of these 70FPP satellites on stars making T$44 with it, which is not too bad :)

BUT...
what i saw just a few minutes ago was like O M G. I played the last 13 of these satellites i could afford with my left FPP, and didn't even get in one single heads-up, or won one of them.

First the all-ins i won (there are 3 of them->WOW):

KK>QQ
77>A7o
AQo>A2o

No the ones I lost:

QQ<KTo

22<99

KK<JJ twice

ATo<K8o

AKs<TT

A5s<JTo

J4s<AJo

T9s<JJ

A7s<A9o

Q7o<T9o on Q98K rainbow, going all in on turn-> river J

I managed to lose like almost any AI i put in as favourite or flip and didn't suck out myself just once.

What the hell going on with stars :(

I know, no samplesize, not much of a favourite etc. ...

and I don't wanna whine because of that, but I just thought, wtf is going on, loosing nearly any important AI.

Sorry 4 whining, just needed to tell.

First my satellites went really really bad(2nd like every time...) and then cashgame was even worse... loosing every hand as a favourite... I very quickly stopped playing as I was pretty pissed... Complete update tomorrow...

As I now sold my T$ on stars my bankroll is around $150 but split on two sites. I would really like to transfer them to TitanPoker but I can't cash out on PokerStars to my MB account. I've to think about what to do next... stay tuned.
