Ive heart that at some point MB demands that you send ID for identificaton and that it actually takes quite a while before they unlock your account. Is it possible to send them ID earlier to avoid all this?

Yes you can.
There is a form, but I can't find it at the moment, because I already send them those documents...
I think it's under contact/my profile/Account verification.
You have to upload scanned ID/driver's licence and proof of address.
