Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $1(BB) Replayer
SB ($211)
BB ($100)
UTG ($131)
Hero ($118)
BTN ($136)

Dealt to Hero J♥ T♥

UTG raises to $3, Hero calls $3, fold, fold, fold

FLOP ($7.50) K♦ 8♣ J♠

UTG bets $4, Hero calls $4

TURN ($15.50) K♦ 8♣ J♠ 9♥

UTG bets $10, Hero raises to $29, UTG folds

What do you think of the turn raise here..? Villain is 27/24 guy over 50ish hands, I'm new to the site so I'm pretty unknown as is he to me.
I'm trying to experiment with raising draws on turn (here obv its a pretty bad draw but it's still a draw + there should be some 2-pairs in my range here I guess and QT....) since it's so fashionable to raise them on the flop..

Is the size too small?

pretty standart line. The only bad think about raising is we dont know exactrly what to do vs push... it will prolly be call.

I like it, I'd make it a bit bigger though (like $35).
You want him to fold Kx, $29 might be small enought that he talks himself into calling.

I thought about calling, but by calling better Jx and especially Kx are likely check/calling on the river so i think a turnraise is a bit better.
Another reason for raising the turn is that you hardly have any SD-value with your pair of jacks because he's usually not betting worse on the turn.

If he calls the raise i think i give up on the river (unimproved obv), i'm not sure if he would do this with Kx, but if he does there's some chance he doesn't give up on the river either and he could still be doing this with sets/2pairs or even QT although he is more likely to 3bet these on the turn.
