Hi. Can somebody give some advice?

$0.02/$0.05 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Known players:
[tg]MP3$2.00:///////;CO$2.43:///////;BU$1.86:///////;SB$10.57:///////;BB$10.50:///////;UTG1$8.05:///////;UTG2$1.95:///////;MP1(Hero)$10.77:///////;MP2$7.02:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K:d, K:h.
MP3 posts deadblind, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.20, MP2 calls $0.20, MP3 calls $0.15, 4 folds.

Flop: ($0.67) T:d, Q:c, 9:c (3 players)
Hero bets $0.50, MP2 folds, MP3 calls $0.50.

Turn: ($1.67) 8:h (2 players)
Hero bets $1.30, MP3 calls $1.30(All-In).

River: ($4.27) 7:d (2 players)

Final Pot: $4.27.

Results follow:

Hero shows a pair of kings(K:d K:h).
MP3 shows a straight, queen high(J:d J:c).

MP3 wins with a straight, queen high(J:d J:c).

That guy just sat at the table, I didnt know him at all.
What did I need to do? Push on the flop? If I check on the turn he could push and I didnt know where I am. Similarly if I bet half size of pot.
Can you give me some advice?

Thanks to all.

I'd raise a little higher PF, but that wouldn't change anything I guess.
NH IMO.

This. It's a tough board for our hand but without reads we can't really avoid going broke against a 40bb stack. Don't sweat it, NH.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for your replies friends. Really I can see no sense to sweat for it but was curious whether I had to do something otherwise to avoid that loss .

Thanks to you both.
