Stealing blinds is a necessary evil in Poker. Why? Because people do it to us, so we are forced to do it back. In all honesty, the game of Poker would be considered a much friendlier game if the posting of blinds was removed.
Anyway, what I want to talk about specifically is the emotions that revolve around Blind Stealing, which I think causes people to go on tilt more than anything else in the game.
Below is an example of my play tonight. This player was Rock tight all night and I had been regularly stealing his blinds. In this circumstance my guilt over stealing his blinds caused me to think that he was fed up and that's why he called me. My guilt blinded my eyes as to what kind of hand he likely held.
All in all it was a tough hand to play, but if my guilt hadn't caused me to figure that he was defending his blind, I would have thought more clearly about what he might actually be holding. I'm just thankful that he had such a short stack.
