I would have played it the same way, but as he may donk out a flushdraw i think the right thing is to raise a litte more, like 13-16 dollars, so he doesent get too good price to call. Easy ship with set, he is likely to do so with flushdraws, plus maybe 2 pairs etc.

interesting that he 3-bet there and then fold to shove, but since board is drawy you can´t expect that and even if he folded straight or flushdraw you´re winning a lot just taking pot down without showdown
