Let me set the scene:

It's the third hand of a big tourney 8,000+ players, it's a turbo tourney and your starting stack is 1500 chips.

You get QQ utg so you raise
utg+1 reraises allin

Discuss please

tough spot.

depends on how big of a stack we've commited, and how much a donkey this guy is.

i've seen many a donkey who like to shove at the start with Ax.

But yes, i could fold it. Not kings tho.

You have no read about him, and it is utg+1 so there could come more all-ins.

But i still would call it on a so early time of that mtt

If nobody else reraises i'm going allin , rarely u get it in vs. KK+ ,sometimes vs. AK ,but if u double up u got a real chance at reaching the final table .Well that's my opinion anyway ..

I would never ever fold QQ to this massive overbet in the lower stakes. I would have problems folding JJ to, because there's no way he's got a premium hand. AK should be a fold i guess (to often a coinflip to early in the tournament).

Fish like to limp/re-raise or limp/call with hands like AA and KK, not to massively overbet the pot to throw everybody out. That's my way of thinking...

I rarely put him on 99+ or AQo+

Thanks for the replies guys.

I called

He had AK off and spiked a king on the turn.

Maybe this early I should have laid it down after all.

Well you need to win a few all.ins in order to win a tournament...so I would actually never fold here. After all, you are playing tight and waiting for your premium hands. And QQ is one of them.
And it is even better to bust out with QQ in the first few hands, than playing and folding for hours just to find out that the big stack has no problem calling your AA shove with J9s and eventually sucking out on you....

lol @ laying down queens here

don't even consider it. If he played AA or KK this way then nh, maybe u can still suck out.

There are 8k players in this tournament and the best way to play a MTT is to play for first so you are going to need to add 1,198,500 chips to your stack.

This is not a SNG where you have value in waiting for a better spot than this. Get the chips in and pray. You have about a 55/45 against the AK that you called against so GOOD CALL unlucky.

Folding QQ preflop to this lol donkaments shove is something you might do in a double or nothing but thats about it.

When i play donkaments it's go big or go broke early for me so yea i snap it off.

Hey ShadowCrew,

in order to get your hands evaluated, you have to post it into our sample hands forum. The professional handjudges of PokerStrategy.com are happy to help you there.

For the future I would also like to ask you to give your threads an informative headline as well as posting the hand in a format, that provides the judges with as much details as possible. You should probably have a look at this sticky, it contains all the information on how to post a sample hand.

Since I don´t know what tourney this was, I moved this thread into to MTT-Basic-Forum for you.

Regards,
Timo

sorry Timo and thanks

in those small buy in mtts i dont fold QQ here to a shove.
its a turbo MTT so you will see SOOOOOOOO many donkshoves from weak players that QQ is a solite favourite over their range.
you see people shoving 55, 22, ATs, stuff like that.
so folding queens in THIS mtt is not possible for me.
