SB and BB both have 50$
you are in SB and call, BB check
board KKKKA
all check to river and then at river:
- SB check
- BB push all in,
if you call, you lose 1$ more (because of rake)
would you call or fold

Ugh, I can't stand when people do this. It's so obviously a chopped pot and yet they push to donate rake.
I guess folding with the nuts is +EV here.

Good point. Even though I know I'm losing money, maybe I'm just calling out of principle. Can't let these suckas get away with it right? It's tough when all you have put in the pot voluntarily is a SB though. LOL

yes you made a critical mistake by not shoving. The definition of mistake that I use is any play which is not optimal. IT IS NOT OPTIMAL TO CHECK! WHERE'S THE KILLER INSTINCT!?! EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!!!
I'm not sure of the maths but I would guess that if the villan in the sb will fold even 2 - 3% of the time (and a few out there will as shown in previous posts) then the shove is the optimal move if you are first to act.

fold=-0.5$
call=-1.50$
but i would have shove first to
if you lose the hand you win the bad beat jack pot, and you have to fold to lose the hand.

If they call a shove, it is an "angry" call, and you know what happens when players play angry....
So either they fold or they get angry. This seems win-win to me.
The shove first in is risking $1.50 in rake to win $0.50. So you need opp to fold in 75% of cases. Don't think that would happen in NL50, rake is a myth down there... If they don't push over you, then you could just raise small and pay much less rake if they just call.
Being any other position on that table is huge +EV though!
