This is a truly sick spot for the ladies, I ended up folding since I wouldn't want a 5 way AI (UTG2 had already reraised and MP1 was a loose luckbox limp/calling every hand and every bet) with only a pair of queens, I figured there was a quite good chance that I would be up against better hands among those 4 others, and even if I wasn't I would bust/have my stack crippled way more often than i would (4,5x) come out on the good side. How loose will you call here?

$50/$100 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Known players:
[tg]UTG2$2490.00:///////;MP1$5107.50:///////;MP2$1230.00:///////;MP3$1350.00:///////;CO$1540.00:///////;BU$1705.00:///////;SB$2597.50:///////;BB$2000.00:///////;UTG (Hero)$1980.00:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q:c, Q:d.
Hero raises to $250.00, UTG2 raises to $400.00, MP1 calls $400.00, MP2 raises to $1,230.00(All-In), MP3 raises to $1,350.00(All-In), 4 folds, Hero folds.

Im getting this in every time all the way up to $6.50 on Stars. This is the first limit where you can expect to see AK and KK+ often
enough to feel good about folding such a strong hand. And I stress thats Stars $6.50s.

These guys ranges are sooo much wider even when over pushing you can see AJ AQ and even 66+ and the true nutsos
well lets not even go there.

So I could not fold here.

I think i'd probably call, the reason being you have them covered and even if you lose you still got more then 1k chips left, which is plenty to not be out yet. I think 8979687 is right and that you would be ahead of their range most of the time. If there were 3 people all in before you, i'd fold it though.

this is one of the rare occasions where im folding QQ pre on the 1s.

you are raising UTG
UTG2 3bets you small
MP1 is dead $ so who cares about him
MP2 4 bet shoves
MP3 over shoves

either UTG2, MP2 or MP3 has KK+

very likely at least 1 has QQ+

you are crushed by at least 1 of these players behind you and maybe two.

id be calling KK obviously but wouldnt be surprised if AA was amonst the hands here very often.

i would say good fold.

remembering: this is going to be very marginal given the action behind us and we can find much better spots in late game where our edge is huge.

I would care about MP1 too, he was a loose fish who had called alot earlier so expected a call from both the players left to act..

The funny thing in this hand is that I actually would have been in front with the others having 2x AJ, 88 and KQs, which made me questiong if Queens can be folded.. But I think I would fold them in the same spot again next time!

Thanks for the answers

This same situation came up in one of Chenny8888's coachings and he folded but very grudgingly.
After he folded saying he wants to call the same thing happened and he said don't fold QQ here on
this limit. You are ahead way too often.

Mind you this was more than a year ago now.

Its funny actually, while I was briefly on PartyPoker I noticed this sort of thing happening all the time, so I was always happy shipping QQ preflop. But on FullTilt it happens much much much less often. Nearly always someone is turning over KK or AA. It could just be variance but I'm fairly sure its an observable trend...

obviously sometimes you will have the best hand with QQ in a 4way all in at a $1 BI. but i think thats being incredibly results oriented.

in the long run i still think a fold is slightly better than a call with all that action behind you.

mugge: what i meant by MP1 doesnt matter is that we are WAY ahead of his cold calling range with QQ so we dont care if he calls us. its more the players behind him that have us crushed more often than not imo and UTG2 who basically min-3bet us.

3 possible players who have KK+ . i think at least 1 will have KK+ a very large % of the time here, which i why i reluctantly let out a big SIGH and fold.

Hi all,

Don't fold this at any limit. Not close. We are 20bb deep!
