[Closed] $0.25 MTT AA slow playing

I only take this line with AA
a). when the table is showing a lot of preflop aggression (someone raised behind, so that is sufficient)
b). I am in UTG position. I personally don't feel comfortable limping KK+ from MP or later, there just aren't enough people left to act behind to get your call/reraise move happening often enough for it to be +EV.

Bear in mind that not all principles of live poker translate directly into online poker. They really are different games. (I had a fish the other night trying to tell me that online poker was not real poker at all and had absolutely no skill, and that the Full Tilt software was completely rigged and that it was "playing us", not us playing it. I checked his SharkScope and he'd lost over $550 on the $1 SnGs )

Never limp AA in these sng's. Unless you want some fish to call the bb with 3-j offsuit and then flop 3-j-k. It's way better to just play them agressively, the only time i would check or call with AA is when you make trips on a non draw heavy board. Since your more likely to get paid off on later streets.

In theory a variation is away from the optimal line to stop you becoming predictable. In lowstakes there is no need to vary your play as in general noone is paying close enough attention to get reads so stick to optimal play

its fine to limp/re-raise AA pre if u feel you can get more value out of aggressive players behind.

its not a standard play but its definitely something i do on occasion against the right players.

i tend to do it more at lvl100+ where the pot will be shallower and easier to handle if it checks through

The thing is, there are so many passive callingstations in these sng. I've seen people just call a preflop reraise leaving like 20% of their stack behind
Unless you know the SB would raise almost every single hand i think it's a bad idea to limp. If you raised, sb would have reraised and it would have ended in the same thing since he wanted to get all his money in anyway.

it works best at higher blind levels and against aggressive opponents.

dont do it on a tight table or against regulars who can see straight through it

its not bad to limp and its not bad to raise. you can mix it up to get max value out of your opponents.

Do people raise often enough on the 0.25c SNGs? I don't think they do usually so I'd prefer just raising preflop

In my opinion overall the play is extremely bad. And people overplay there hands very badly. Either they get too much in with horrible hands or just call like 60% potsize bets on every street with second pair, gutshotstraightdraws.

Preflop most people limp. postflop play is very different. But in general i followed the advice you and lessthanthreee gave me. And to just play straightforward. Bet when you have something and don't try to bluff alot works best imo. I rarely slowplay hands because they just won't bet/raise often enough or they bet very little.

There are a few decent regs like me though. (With few i mean about 3 people over the last 200 games that i really noticed)

It's hav0cLOL. I don't play on pokerstars that much although I did today.

i actualy meant jimmy since he's playing the same sng's as i am You play way higher then me so i'd never run into you anyway.

Going to be at your coaching again tomorrow though ♦. Unfortunately i couldn't make it last week.
