Villian donks about 20%, he is 17/13 and has a 6% calling range from SB (9% 3bet% from SB) over 1.5k hands. I saw him check/call, donk Turn with 3rd pair (55) before this hand. Thus I think his flatting range is pocketpair heavy.

I don't really think he is strong here and I would certainly raise a non-pair turn. Should I raise the turn when it pairs? I'm not too sure how it would affect villian's perception.

I generally have the same problem
Do I really want to raise turn with very strong hands where I have to call shove and can I make him fold better hands if I raise turn and shove river ui.
Since I would not raise turn with overpairs I think I also like call there. If I miss river I think I can shove there anyway especially on paired boards where I can easily have there set or really going for thin value with overpairs.
So I would likely just call ip

Both lines -flatting or raising IP - are ok in that spot, it really depends on your opponent/gameflow etc. I'd vote for a raise if he's not that good - we can credibly rep a 4 here and he very rarely has a monster.

I think that against more fit-or-fold and with worse hand reading players it's good to raise turn, because we might make take initiative as well as make 87 fold. Against players capable of calling turn w/87, i'd call.

In this spot, id call because we know villain's on tighter side and probably capable of staying with his hand longer as we rarely do actually have 4.

Does anybody know which line is better on avearage and on what mathematical assumptions?
