Hello everone,

I started playing FL a couple of weeks ago and the problem is that I am loosing money.

The question is if I play bad or if I am just unlucky.

Here are a couple of sample hands that I lost most money in the latest downswing (sorry for the big amount of hands, but 1 or 2 hands wouldn't be representative:)

Hi!

pls note that this is hand evaluation forum so pls just hand examples here(and only 1 per thread) and post questions to correct forums...but since you are a new one I guess we can make an exception:)

1. about your graph... I assume y=$ which means you are down 100BB on 0,1-0,2 which is nothing tragical for 13k hands even on microstakes. It is still a very small sample where variance has a great influence on the results. Purely results oriented I would become worried when I exceed -300BB or would not be + over 50k hands(talking about microstakes that is) so result tell almost nothing here

2. things that is the biggest marker and is the most reliable information about your game is the capability of analysing and evaluating your own/and others play. With that you can detect your mistakes(and correct them) and mistakes of your oponents(and exploit them).Sure that is not an easy thing and obviously demands constant game improving.

3.about the posted hands...

a) I dont mind 3betting the river since J9 is not that likely(since he didnt bet flop with OESD) and 4x(with worse kicker)/Qx are much more.To cap you have to call and hope for a worse 4x

b)very standard.River is a must call and hope he has Ax

c)bet flop!!! Sure flop is very dry and not that many hands will call you but you have to protect your hand against overcards or extract value from worse pockets/Ahigh/8x,3x which are much more likely than Qx(they bad and limping with a very wide range why would they have a Q?!?)

d)since your IP I dont really mind just a calldown against an unknown.3bet from BB can often mean a very strong hand and you can fold when he 3bets you. With more information about his BB3betting range you can definatelly raise flop or turn since you often have an edge

e) 3bet preflop,your hand has great equity and you want to kick players behind you out to minimize the field. Playing Aces(even big ones) is often hard in a multiway pot
as played... 3bet flop!!! you have TPTK(top pair top kicker) which is probably the best hand atm and you want to protect it as much as you can

f) I dont mind your turn check line but also(and probably slightly better) is to play b/f on turn,There are still many guthsot/FDs,SDs that you want to protect so betting for a freeSD is fine.However when oponent is unknown or likes to bet rivers when you check behind on turn I dont mind your line since you block a lot of his possible outs and he may also be close to drawing dead with some low pockets that he will otherwise fold. You also eliminate the chance of being semibluffed on the turn

g) again raise flop!! You have TPSK so you want to protect this big pot by eliminating as many players as possible.If there is a 3bet you should cap since there are numerous draws on the board.

4.the hands you posted have one thing in common you lost a good hand or suffered a bad beat... sure they produce loses but this is happening to everyone all the time. Focusing on these hands is often a bad idea since they very often cannot be avoided. You should analise all hands(even the ones you win!!) and try to evaluating them objectively

5.but... as you can see there are mistakes in your game which definatelly need improvments. That said, I dont want to discourage you from playing FL but to motivate you further.beating microstakes is actually pretty easy but surelly not without studying(vids,articles,analysing)

These hands were just the latest downswing. I played them within 1 hour and won only 1 hand the whole time.
The faults that I make were in most cases that I didn't play aggressive enough. I understand that but I think it's just the many bad beats that scare me. I lost 8 out of my last 9 AA/KK.

Anyway, I will go on studying your articles and hope that the next upswing is coming soon.
