So the first tournament was a 1000$ fr donkament. I played on day 1 of a 2 day event with something like 2.5k entrants including pre-registrations for day 2. Blind levels were 1 hour starting with 120bb and quickly going down to 60bb at the 2nd blind level (which is pretty fast for live).
My first table was exceptionally soft. The seniors' event had just been the previous day which meant there were a lot of old people (lol old people). There were 2 players on my table who I thought were good, but one turned out to be horrendous and the other I felt was playing way too tight and a bit too passive. In any case I more or less doubled my starting stack in the first 4 hours with minimal showdowns (weee position raises, cbetting and double barreling).
I was then moved to a new table with a low number (they break tables in order of numbers, so my table was not going to be broken ever). There were 3 internet players, one on my right who I found out to be a 5/10 and 10/20 nlhe hu reg online. Nice. There were still a few old people though, who quickly busted and were replaced one by one by more internet players (good or bad, internet players are far superior obv). It ended up being something like 5 internet players including myself and 3 bad players. Blinds were rapidly going up and my stack had fallen to something like 5k after trying to 2barrel one of the internet players HU on KK7dd8r with 53o and getting check/jammed on. I then lost a reasonably big flip for 2400 (12bb) after button raising 66 and getting jammed on by a9o and having the board running out something like QJTQr8 (lol did not think i was gonna win after the flop/turn). I then rejammed AJo in a fairly close spot for my last 2400 running into JJ and losing.
1500$ Shootout tournament tomorrow. Probably my biggest chance of getting a bracelet, I'm fucking boss in those.
