[Closed] advice from live players

damn,i was hoping for some replies in this thread

I occasionally play in Star City in Sydney.
$1/$2 ring.

and yes if you raise 3xbb or even 4xbb every one calls with any face cards, suited cards. so when i do i normally raise $15 bux with AQ+ QQ+

than I Cbet very aggressively (2/3 pot) and most people folds.

But than again I dont have such large samples.

coz these guys will call you down with any top pairs

Yeah I've been raising big with good starting hands but I honestly feel like i'm burnig money by never getting shorthanded enough to play it profitably postflop and i'm not really comfortable betting into 3 or 4 loose players on the flop when i've missed.

Do you continue betting\raising agressively ,
or do you considirate if the flop cards helped your hand to improve or not -
if flop cards did not help your hand will you bet\raise less agressively?

raise big before flop, hit tptk, bet bet shove

or just check/fold everything else

(they will never notice)

I got a table like that in the weekly tourney I play. We have 50% of the people that know a little bit about pre-flop and 50% of complete fish. Last week my table was like 6 fish, me and a decent player.
Realy boring, hard to play. I mean, It's profitable, but not fun at all.

One crazy hand I shoved AA, got called by JJ, KK and KJs. KJs flushed and cracked the aces. Ok, rebuy.
I got AA again :), big raise, 3 callers, cbet, 1 guy calls down to the river.
Then I shove 20bb with JJ after 3 limpers, finaly heads-up, but cracked by K3o.

I think in tourneys it's harder, cause when you get short all you can do is look for a 70-30, 65-35 situation and get the money in. High variance.

I'll keep playing like that. Raising big with monsters, cbet/broke when hit, c/f when don't. Get cheap flops (that's realy easy) with small PP and SC.
Ow, and if you manage to get HU (yeah, that's rare) with a regular and have the oportunity to bluf, show the bluf. Fishes will call you down even lighter...

I tend to play pretty passive in super loose live games. And when I have a made hand I'll get aggressive. I'll raise with aj or 10's or better. Big aces I raise to build pot and I'll almost never continue against a super loose player unless I hit the board. I never continue into 3 or more players if I miss. I find that my play is more about getting value for strong hands than outplaying people. You can't outplay people who can't fold middle/bottom pair or a gutshot.

People often remark that my play is so obvious and I could play cards up. The fact is the game is held in a casino and most of these ultraloose players are gamblers and will pay you off even when your play is obvious.

Sorry to say this guys, but if you guys are complaining about fish saying the game isn't profitable, you guys are the biggest fish at the table. I've pld live around 30 sessions at casinos and yes there are lots of call station fish, however 70 percent of the sessions where profitable, and very profitable 300 bi+

I am prob up 30 buy in in 30 session at nL100 and 200...

It's simple and just stay patient. Simple poker wins

I still play for fun. Simple poker is not that fun to me.
Besides, there is not much to learn playing like that.

Well, I also said it was hard to play. That was a mistake. It isn't. But it does increase variance, witch is hitting me live, so it sucks.
Perhaps it is a way to improve my mindset.

i used to isoraise and try to punish the limpers but with "just" 100bb max buyin you really don't have enough room to do that. optimal strategy i believe would be to limp behind liberally in position, and isoraise HUGE preflop. then postflop vb/vb/vb with the top5% hand that you isoraised with.

None of us said it isn't profitable. In fact I hate it when the table has regs at it. I was just looking for advice on the best strategy.

One thing i'll add is make sure you look ahead before limping to see if anyone is going to raise preflop. most people usually show it pretty early. The regs will spot this too so try not to do it. (The one tell i've managed to use)
