$40/$80 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Known players:
CO = ($842.00)
BU = ($5590.00)
SB (Hero) = ($2005.00)
BB = ($1030.00)
UTG1 = ($955.00)
UTG2 = ($12412.00)
MP1 = ($3560.00)
MP2 = ($4841.00)
MP3 = ($835.00)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J, Q.
UTG1 calls $80.00, 2 folds, MP2 calls $80.00, 3 folds, Hero calls $40.00, BB checks.

Flop: ($320) T, Q, Q (4 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG1 checks, MP2 checks.

Turn: ($320) 3 (4 players)
Hero bets $320.00, BB folds, UTG1 folds, MP2 raises to $1,280.00, Hero raises to $1,925.00, MP2 calls $645.00.

River: ($4170) A (2 players)

Final Pot: $4170.

I found myself in this situation after limping as SB.

I was thinking a check/raise would be most profitable on the flop as i was first to act, no action behind tho.

After looking at the hand again, on a paired board and possible draws would a protection bet, say pot size, be the better option to take on the flop??

Thanks

I don't mind the check/raise on the flop, I think you have the right idea - given that you are against multiple players, and one is likely to bet at the pot.. However, as Rebuz pointed out you hit trips, and didnt flop a set, so there are less hands that players can represent on this flop - whereas if you have 33 and it comes Q J 3 , players can bet either with/attempting to represent Queens/Jacks after you and you can then raise.

I'm always betting to build a pot, and hoping to get it all in on the turn/river!
