I was wondering, when you use your referal URL for people to sign up through that URL, could it be affected if someone posted the URL on twitter and twitter shortens URL? Or will that short converted URL still contain the original referal code?

I'm not sure I follow you here - do you mean something like tinyurl? If so, it shouldn't pose a problem 
As long as they're forwarded to your original referral URL, everything should work fine.

yes, I meant tinyurl something like that, cuz I have been using it for many weeks but no new referal friends, so was just wondering
Yeah, what tinyurl does is basically to create a new URL that forwards the person who clicks it to the original one - so instead of going from A to C, you'll be rerouted through B
