Slow play seems correct. Can I check raise the turn, since he raised preflop, and is maybe holding an Ace? Should I get more value out of this?

Hand 1 looks well played to me.

Hand 2 No idea where u stand here. This worked out fine. Depends on what he had I think. You want to have as much money in the pot as possible. I think on the flop the call is good whatever he has. You want to build that pot. Then after the turn you want to get more money in the pot. If he has no hand he will probably not bet (much) or wont ever push this hand through far enough for you to get great value. So I would bet the turn. He may think you are representing the ace or are defending a draw if he has something. He may have the draw or ace himself. If he had nothing you gained max here, if he had a hand you may have gotten more. Either way, you ended up making it a nice pot. Very nice hand!

1) I guess this is an example of trying to find the right balance between value and protection. Is the raise sufficient? Obviously, I want to play for stacks here if I can, but I think if a heart drops on the turn, the FD will get paid off. Is the raise large enough to spoil the FD odds? Will I get a caller if I make it larger?

I need to make significant money with these hands in order to make the game pay.

2) Flopped quads, everybodys dream hand. And not too obvious either. It did work out reasonably well in this case, though I have no idea why he called the river raise. Just small enough to make crying seem reasonable I suppose. His small bet was maybe his attempt at a bluff catcher?

Given his preflop position, I think betting into the Ace on the turn might have been better. Bet maybe $15, and hope he raises some amount if he has the Ace. Then call, and bet the river again.

Hi aciddrop!

Hand 1) If you put him on a flushdraw he wouldn't call a small bet either. But your overbet could look like a busted flushdraw and he could call with an ace or queen. Nice hand!

Hand 2) I would make a small raise on the turn to build a pot. He bets twice so he obviously has some kind of a hand. You want to get his whole stack with your hand.
