I’ve seen him raising like this with pocket pairs to see a cheep flop and with 15% PFR I think I can 3-bet for value with AJs. What about post-flop?

That PFR is not even big and when raise comes from UTG his range is most likely not 15%. You are just isolating yourself against his top range. Also villain doesn't get odds to call with pockets to set mine (if he know that). So preflop call is better line.

With that preflop play flop cbet is ok. After call comes you need most likely help. Only hand you are ahead in river would be some flush draw, but is there even any of those in his range after preflop line? Even AQ diamonds turn to value hand ;)

fold preflop..

as played check behind flop.. since it hit's a big chunk of his range.. and your kinda committing yourself with a cbet

as played push turn.. This sucks but with given stacks I just ship it in there...

But we should play the hand in a way where we're not facing that decision on the turn :)

as played fold river....

why are you 3betting AJs vs an UTG raiser?

fold pre is standard.

I have a good sample of 280 hands and his raise % only from early position in the early phase of a SNG is 14%. I wanted to take the pot pre-flop and I thought he will fold after my 3-bet because of the small stacks and my tight image in the early phase. I was surprised he called pre and I called the river also to see his hand.

You realize that vs a 14% you don't do much better than a flip? Here is what happens, he will just fold some weaker hands and you did a great job isolating yourself against a range that crushes you. You will win a few small pots against his weak part of his range and lose a big one against his stronger parts. If you want to play the hand, just call preflop to get value out of his weaker hands and to play your position postflop. But really, even against a 14% you can just fold your AJs.

yeah, really fold this

Agree with you guys, fold pre-flop is the best option, thanks for the help.
