7 players left and hero has only 2.5bb and shortest stack. Most likely you need to double up once to get into money so I would take this opportunity with decent hand.

You're the most likely candidate to finish this game not ITM. If there is a couple other short stacks you can think of folding, but with those stacks everybody would try to fold their way to victory so probably a nice spot to gamble.

7handed as the Shortstack you should just wait for a decent hand (any facecard, any pair) and Push as soon as possible.
The only issue here is the raise of the bigstack before us, but since he has about 7k chips he will almost always raise nearly any2, and you are far ahead of his range with 77. So this is an easy Overpush, and since no one wants to mess with the bigstack you should get heads up usually with very decent equity.
