I know I know this one is probably quite newbish I am personally leaning towards that the fold was the right choice but I thought it might be interesting to get some other opinions = D

Anyway here is my train of thought. I believe that with 8 players left and 3 of them with lower stacks than me why take a risk when I have a reasonable chip stack? However on the other hand...
Because he is short stacked and needs to double up to stand any chance. Also as I am sure he knows the blinds are about to hit him he is most likely pushing with a very wide range. So perhaps calling here would be the correct choice.

I don't know... maybe I analyzing this to much! =D

Anyho heres the hand

the problem is, if only one of the shortstacks doubles up, which is very likely, you are the next one to become short and the blinds are high.
This is actually a very good spot for your situation, since UTG will push at least 30-40% if he knows what he is doing. So we are a 60-65% favourite and even if we loose the hand we have 500chips left and a small chance to cash.
Ther only problem I see is that another player could overcall, so we should defnitely push to maximze the foldequity.
