here i basicall have a qu @ turn play: bet or check behind?

over 500 hands: he played loose (30/20), huge wts (39) low flop and river (1) but high turn aggr. (7).

in game i thought checking back turn is optimal cuz i have so many outs if behind + i wanna pot control a bit and a turn c/r would suck.

however, i think a str8 and top set would almost alw bet turn again. so if im behind, its AK only imo. also, he is such a station, he might call many dominated fds if i bet small. also if river blanks and he pots, its tough for me. i f i bet turn small, its a nice free sd bet if river blanks and if i hit one flush, i shove.

as played river snap call imo.

Checking behind on the turn here can be profitable if a spade hits. Your hand will be well disguised. If a diamond hits, not so much as you played flop and turn as if you had diamond draw.
Because you check turn he knows you don't have a straight, so he can bet into you on the river with busted flush as well as maybe set of aces.

If he wasn't such a station I would be tempted to pot raise the river as a lot of players will fold a set and A3 in this spot.

After he checks turn though, it's unlikely he check raises so a turn bet allows us to build the pot when we hit the river and check behind the river when we miss since we have showdown value. It does however stop him bluffing which we want him to do.

exactly. so whats higher ev line longterm u think vs such a plr?

check back and snap off bluffs (if we dont improve to 2pair or flush, alw call ??)
or bet turn for free sd and/or go for value on improving rivers (both flushes, potentially 2pair)

@ his hand here: he had pair + fd. i think a very likely hand for him to have. does it make a difference for me to have Q high fd or K high fd u think? like having K high fd more reason to bet turn?

i mean, in hu, i value Q and K high fd in this spots similar and both as nut draws. but its sh, there's a difference in ranges, right?

I think if we want to balance our floats and slowplays, betting the turn is better here. Calling flop and checking behind turn will almost always look like a weak draw rather than a weak made hand imo.

I think we check behind against players who are capable of taking the cbet flop, check raise turn line which is a natural defense against players who float flops a lot.

To be honest though, I could talk for hours on interesting betting lines in omaha as it all just becomes one massive levelling war. ♠_cool:
