Hi,
in Phil's book he describes in the PreFlop chapter that you should raise when you decide to play the hand and if you're the FIRST TO PUT VOLUNTARILY chips into the pot. So, he raises when HE'S THE FIRST IN.
What does he mean with this? Should you raise when it's you're turn and nobody limped in, or sould you raise if there was no raise in front of you?
Maybe it's clear when you're native american, but as german i've got my problems ;)
Thank you.
Greetings

Hi cobby!

To be "first in" means you are the first one who puts any money in the pot (excluding the blinds) = no limpers and no raise in front of you!

Hope this helps.

Good luck at the tables!
