I'm BB and I hold pocket fours:

OnGame No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (4 handed) - OnGame Hand Converter from HandHistoryConverter.com

UTG ($16.38)
Button ($13.23)
SB ($9.70)
BB ($15.34)

Preflop:
1 fold, Button calls $0.10, 1 fold, BB bets $0.35, Button calls $0.35

Flop: ($0.85) 6♠, 10:spade:, 4♣ (2 players)
BB bets $0.60, Button calls $0.60

Turn: ($2.05) A♥ (2 players)
BB bets $1.25, Button calls $1.25

River: ($4.55) J♣ (2 players)
BB bets $3.50, Button raises to $7, BB calls $7

Total pot: $22.05

Hi,

Not really, betting all the way should probably be your default with a set, even tho it's actually quite hard for him to call the river with his flopped made hands. So while check/calling with slightly weaker hands in our range like maybe KK might be better, with 44 we can still get called by worse hands like AsXs or JsXs a third time.

When you get minraised on the river it really sucks but without reads it's hard to believe he called the flop with KQ and you can't discount him playing stuff like AJ/AT/JT this way, so unless you have some time of "minraise=mortal nuts" read on the guy it's a really tough fold to find.
