I remember playing NLHE...
those swings took hours and hours back then!

I think, this shows, why I decided to play SD instead of NLHE...
its so much more thrilling and astonishing.

At the end of the day, this is a "normal" SD-graph:

Did a real great amount of sims this morning and I`d like to share some essential SD-theory in here.
I compared different starting hands against different ranges and one result shows in a very nice way the differences between SD and NLHE...
lets take a look, what AKo is worth in a 5-way-allin (against 1 tight, 1 bit loser, 1 lose and 1 very lose guy):

Really? 13,9%? (And it gets even worse, if one of them is loser!).
So lets take a look at a real garbage-hand... lets for instance take a J8o!

16,3%
Thats signifikant better!
So whatever happenes... if I sit down at a table, where 4 guys gamble like hell, I will never again be happy calling AKo... or to say it better:
I will fold that sh*t!
Sounds crazy to a NLHE-player, doesnt it?

EV 13,7a/100, looks ok, but I am NOT happy with my game!
A lot of unnecessary faults, a real lot of leaks in my game, still struggling with reducing villains range to a reasonable one on flop/turn/river, only too often lost in multiway spots; its a real lot of work to do!

I am struggling with the decision "Move up or not?", I think, I will stay at SD2 for now, as I know myself and moving up would let me get tighter, where I need to learn aggression etc; maybe, its the best, only to look at my gameplay and forget about results and -knowing myself- I am sure: I will not do this, when I need to watch my BR, when to move down!

Its allways a bit of a strange feeling, to move up, even if you played higher stakes in former years (in my case its nearly 2 years ago).
First session hasnt been that easy, I needed to to get a feeling for the higher level of aggression, 2nd one felt really good yesterday:

I hope, that I`ll be able to continue playing at a good level...
and find some more good tables.
Its really important, to be a bit lucky in getting at the right tables!

You move up and run bad!
Yesterday I had a really nasty session:

What makes me feel good though:
No tilt (as EV also shows)!
Not even getting more or less aggressive;
I played as good as I can and ran bad.
EV of >70bb/100 should be fine and there will be better days!

I do think it will be hard or almost impossible to keep this winrate EV wise. I try to am between 10 and 20a/100h also to prepare myself for a downswing... This week I'm running 11BU below EV. Ev is not spectacular high I have to admit.

Funny how you identify AKo as a low EV hand in multiway pots and the next post you ship it vs 2 other players For me also AKo is a losing hand which I need to give up on much more often. Someone might disagree but I think going all-in pre with AKo is -EV in 6-max.

Thats not a contrast, I think:
By shoving myself I get in the best bluffhand, have foldequity (theres a lot of spots like L-L-R10a-C10a-RAllin-F-F-F-F) in shortdeck and I got a decent equity, especially, if there is only 1 caller (oftentimes a JTs-hand and really often hands, you dont understand, why they call that stuff).

equities are really close in this game, so you need to think a lot different from NLHE.

Yes in short deck AK is a fold afther 2 all ins in front...

Update BR-Challenge:
Week 3 started wih 321$
Hands played: 3228 (very much of work, today for instance started 6 am, paused 1am-4.30am and work again 04.30-9am)
profit (including RB/challenge): 50$

BR now: 371$

Some thoughts on that:
The week was full of really hard work (and next 4 days will get even harder), but I managed to review some hands every day, do some solves and to find all those old notes about the concepts of GTO I want to involve into my game slowly but steady.
I would never have thought, that after this time of absence I`d have such a lot of fun not only by playing, but also by learning more about this game.
Funny experience, I really like!

First month of challenge:

As I have promised, 10% of the winnings go to our local animal shelter and as I have made payments in the last hour, 25,70€ were sent to "Tierheim XXXXX", where we normally gift yearly before christmas (and will do this additionally to this challenge this year too).

Last week felt disastrous, here is the graph:

Biggest fault:
Playing very very tired on monday after a 14-hr-workday on sunday and early shift on monday... and tuesday, after 7 hrs of work and 3 hours of a instructors-conference;
I think, I need to respekt my personal limits, I am no longer 20!

Monday/tuesday tired as F***, but I tried to play; fault!
Rebuild ok, but on friday evening I lost focus and didnt get it back until now;
need to look, whats the reason and how to get out of this.

Tried a lot of things, seems like most of them were not my best idea.

Today groupcoaching with a good coach has been interesting and I will try to get more out of it by reviewing.

This has not been "my week", a lot of SetUps, a lot of poor played hands.
Yesterday a meeting with guys of my working-group, very good, a lot of interesting stuff.
