This guy was one of the type 80/15/55 guy. On turn I had my 3-of a kind and 2nd nutflush, but I felt something fishy about this guy... So checked-behind. On river had my wonder card, and easy raise for value on his snap-donk. Doesn't pay off to slowplay a hand like that

Originally decided to bet flop (had position, no-one had shown interest on pot) and on turn cback, if the board pairs up. River was call or fold, but on that card I did the thing I did.

Eventually, today was 5,5 bb UP and bb/100 calmed down to 95.50/100.

Not a fishy question at all! I usually look to vills. AFq (if high, then it affects my decisions), but mostly I look these stats: Bet river+won at SD when bet river

Especially when some guy is very aggressive, they love to bluff on bigger pots when they actually don't have anything. So usually it's better to let them bluff than bet yourself and make them to fold hands they could bluff.

Against passive opponent I tend to bet myself

Ahh yes ofc. ♦ So something along the lines of 40-50% agg freq on river and/or less than 30% W$SD would mean a player with a taste for bluffing the river.

Having small sessions today. 2xNL10 tables and then 4xPLO10 tables.
So far so good, had some BIN's up already and, more interesting, having my non-sd winning on BE on OMAHA ♦ In the game of fishes. Unbelievable.

This week I'll have a live tournament (with friends, though), and in addition, I'll have to do another essay. Fuu.

Today up 2,5bin with 250 hands, NONsd were close to BE and sd graph was in skies! (not).

Opponent was very loose, and he could easily have some crap wrap there, so there's too many turn cards that we would have to fold. There's also one guy after us, so better to just jam it here.

And then 1 HEM hand.. Was against an unknown that seemed like a nit (too small sample, though). Decided to go on float, but actually I let him to bluff one more street. T is too obvious, he rarely has FD's there, so I'd exploit my hand here by betting. I'm only afraid of T here. This time didn't pay off, but can't see (m)any other ways to play this. Small pot anyways.

On the PLO hand, I really wonder why wouldn't you shove 100% of times there. Opponent bets a full pot, and he has a pot sized stack after that. He isn't ever folding. If you just call, he will shove any turn anyway. And there are about 30 cards in the deck (over 60%!!!) that completes some draw.

Whenever you have the chance to shove nuts in PLO and get caller(s), you should do it.

Indeed, shove with nuts is great. This guy was just quite idiot and he had once potted and folded with only 1.xx chips in his stack in a 3-bet pot ♦ But on this flop I'll never just call.

No way to play +EV today. Too many bad news. Had a good session on mourning, but lost it in other session now in the evening and had first - session. Although the loss came on 6-set vs 4-set and vill. hit 4 on turn..

E: couldn't stay out of tables after all, found so much fish there ♦ EV shows +2bin, real result is -0.1bin. 1-outers raped me twice already ♦

Ooray! I think I'll have time to play poker today. Unfortunately I have to start to do my Essay one day, so I guess my weekend is doomed.

Long time no posts.. I've been moving myself little by little towards to PLO. I used to play NLHE and I actively joined the conversation in hand evaluations forum, but after veriz stopped I felt couldn't tell my opinion anymore. A chance to telll my tactical point of view was good for my own game, too.

Had rigged run for last 2 months on PLO. Got like 16 bin's up in a instant, but then had a run bad and got down for 10bin. Then made another roller coaster. Now I'm having a small winning there, so it's ok. I'm still running bad, as it seems like flops are not my friends against guys who have obv. Aaxx and can't give up.. But if the flop is not bad, then river saves them. Usually. Today has been a good example of omaha's high variance: first had 3bin's up, then some down, and again 3 bin up, even if I ran under EV-line. Had 3x Quads on the road for 100hands, nice!

Hopefully next year makes me better person and a poker player. That's all I set for a score, for now.

Hope you missed me? Guess not, but anyways..

Silver level. It feels odd, but I had to go this way. Last month I had so much going on in my real life that my A-game suffered a lot. Had problems with ex and friends, school was stressing and had lack of money. Also, betsson casino took my money (never returned). Sounds good? No.

That's why my game went downhill for a while. I started my sessions playing a bit too loose, and lost 1/2 bin all the time to it (and had bad run, too). My game went horribly wrong after first bad beat on every session, and I was able to lose nearly half of my roll. Ofc, I still have enough to take shots on NL10, but anyway.

Today is my new start. I opened tables, fully concentrated and without any TILT's. And all went well! Had one bad beat only (KK lost to AQ, after I flopped set and he had TP). I didn't go to tilt! I played my A-game, took pots when villains showed weakness and made moves that I used to do to provoke idjets to overplay their hands. Awesome! +4bin in just 30min, having only 1 monster hand after that bad beat.

From now on, I'll concentrate more on NL than PLO. Somehow I can't turn my boat to move upwards there anymore. PLO was profitable for me, but the run started to go downwards, for good. I still play PLO sometimes, NL being my main goal. And I had some deep-runs in tournaments, too, so I could start to play them randomly. Villains are rather exploitable in NL cash games and tournaments, and I now have clear strategies for many post-flop situation. I always have a plan, like I used to have.

I've also been thinking about having someone to stake me, as it is rather stressing to play as a student when you know that some bad run in a row can doom you for good. I do have time to play, though, as we don't have such tight schedules here.

And what I want to achieve this year, here's some of my goals:

NL50+.
I've been close to get to NL50 once, but then I started to have that real life tilt that ruined my game. The shots I took there showed me, that it's perfectly beatable.

Start to win money or stop playing.
One of my main goals. I've been playing online since 2012 with pokerstrategy. In the beginning, I crushed NL2 and NL4 (having a phase of appr. 21bb/100). Then I got to NL10, maybe did something wrong and had a bad swing, and back to the start. Second career started in September 2012, got close to NL50, back to the start. This time it's to the top or end of story.

Discipline in the game
One of my problems sometimes, maybe. When I'm slightly tired and start to play only 4-5 tables, I start to play a bit too wide and lose money against stations. This can't happen too many times, coz it makes my winrate drop dramatically.

I also have to start to take attention to the length of my sessions. My game usually gets weaker when I play over 1,5hour. Guess I have to find the optimal length of a session one day!

Win a MTT

This is just a side goal for me, but still: I want to win a MTT. I have won a freeroll 3 times (1x50d win, 2x free tickets), but so far best result has been 5th place and next best 30+. One win could help me to increase my stack, too!

Have a career and learn poker

I try to have some work already in the summer. One option could be as a cards dealer in some Finnish casino, but those jobs are quite hard to get. And another goal is to keep on learning poker. Many situations are quite std. for me, but as I want to become a lot better, I need to improve in marginal situations (and increase winrate a little).

Hello guys!

Today has been funny day on poker. I haven't been playing on my "primary" site Titan poker yet, but I have continued on my projects on pokerstars NL2 and FTP NL5. Both went quite well tonight.

My focus has been on studying psychology of poker today. It has been a slight weakness for me sometimes, and now I realize that I have to start to exercise more and have a clear focus on my play. I can't have facebook with 5 conversations open while I play and I can't be hungry or sick ♦ When I have the proper mind-set, I can go with 20bb/100 winrate even on NL20, so IF I can get my mind-set right and become a better man, then I will be rather hard to be beaten in the long run. Ofc, after NL20 I guess the players will be a lot better, too.

I've been thinking (again) about changing the site I play primarily. Titan poker is just so out of date, tables are nowadays somehow full of regs, and there's only a little value out there in NL5-NL10 at some times. So if any of my many readers have a suggestion on another poker app that has more players and little bit softer games, then I'm all ears.

Sorry if it feels I'm spamming it sometimes ♦ Now I'm playing one NL draw tournament on stars. It's just so ridiculous how those guys play. CH/F without hit and they call any bet before the draw. Shocking.

I've always been good at that draw, but some unlucky twists had usually made me to keep break from it and my playing is only random.

Hopefully I'll take this one home, only time will tell!

These dreams were shattered once again. ATM I feel like I can't become a poker player. I'm rather talented in sports and I have expectionally talents to know what to do and when. But poker.. Can't beat it.

I guess I just misunderstood the game when I was young. I played for 3 years with no education to this stuff. Maybe old habits are still stuck deep into me. I try to study here, understand the game, but it feels it's useless. Once I got to NL20 and was very winning player, but now I can't beat any level. No matter what I do. Maybe a bad run, but I'm steaming and I feel that this is it. Maybe it's time for me to give up and stop playing poker, become a viewer and a passive attender here. I'm in a constant tilt, can't make good decisions, and when I do, I get beaten. Set-ups all the time, and can't afford to play anymore coz I'm a student and can't invest my own money here.

Last 100d on Titan poker, 30d on PS. Other cash has been gone in the wind or to my bank account.

Unless a miracle happens or I get help with this fricking game, my poker career will end in next 1-3 months.

Have had long time problems with my tilting, but I guess I'm slightly over it now. I feel calm while playing and I can rationalize my decisions during the game. Even tournament life is easier atm!

On Titan poker I still have cash for NL10, but I'm having a project on Finnish community, where I play NL2 (zoom, mostly) on Jokerstars. So ATM I'm focusing on it and I'm developing my mental game with time.

none of your outs are clean and even if u hit, there is a 4 card str8 on board and noone will pay it off

Guess I had a read on him.. I wasn't playing purely for my straight draw here, I could also use any diamond here to outplay him And I have position.
