Pocket kings and aces are a type of hand you generally want to raise preflop, unless you enjoy multi-way limped pots which spell a minefield for your lonely pair on most of the flops. monarc2010 realizes there are many pros and cons to slowplaying these two monster hands, but the question remains - should he slowplay or not?
The ongoing discussion is just shy of three pages at the moment and if you ever wanted to pick up some ideas on this topic, then Monarc2010's thread is the best place to do it. If you have an idea of your own, don't hesitate to share it with other community members, as in poker any new tip gained on how to extract more value from your opponents is quite rewarding to your bankroll.
Poker Blog of the Week
Poker is a fun activity, especially if you play it with your friends in a home game, but it certainly doesn't hurt if that fun turns into a profitable activity. As such, metahand is one of the latest PokerStrategists who embarked on a poker journey filled with goals and a few dreams, just to make it all worthwhile.
His starting point is NL10 and to keep track of his successes as well as learn along the road, he will be providing you, fellow community members, with regular updates in his blog. Many new players will probably recognize themselves in his goals and as such, his blog may prove to be a useful read - as he intends to post interesting hands, study poker and for the time being, reach a goal that micro stakes mortals can reach.

Performances of the Week
It's not over until it's over! One of our community members took that old saying literally and when he found himself down to just a few cents, he managed to fend off the teeth that bit his bankroll and worked his way up to $200.
Meanwhile, numerous members have been quite active in the One Million in a Year thread, adding their successes on regular basis, thus giving a second meaning to their winnings besides the usual increase of the personal bankroll. Here are some of the best performances of the week from our members:
- pavels4444 pulled off a Klaztchinsky-Hovernitz maneuver (fictional term) and built up his bankroll from $0.11 to $200.
- leito99 won won $1050 in a $27 satellite to WCOOP
- amplifyd added a total of $947.44 to our One Million in a Year goal.
- flopper8 added a total of $546.09 to our One Million in a Year goal.
One Million in a Year - Total Winnings (Week 4): $54,929.54
We are rolling! So far our progress from the previous season is slightly hovering above us, but that doesn't diminish the progress we've made in the past four weeks. The yellow line of our current progress is now edging towards $60k in total winnings.
Whether we will manage to reach the $1 million mark this time remains to be seen and for now, the most important thing is for you to report your tournament successes in the One Million in a Year thread, so that we can add your winnings to this thus far seemingly elusive goal.
