GGPoker add overlay notifications to Discord
You can now drop everything when a juicy overlay looks imminent at GGPoker with a new bot on their Discord server.
An overlay is the sweetest thing in tournament poker because you literally make equity the moment you register. An overlay, for those who do not know, is when a guaranteed prize pool falls short and the operator has to put in the rest of the money.
If you haven't already joined the GGPoker Discord channel now is the time to, as they have added an overlay bot.
The bot will provide a message 15 minutes before a tournament is set to finish late registration, it shares the amount the MTT is set to overlay by both in real money terms and percentage of the prize pool:
This is a win-win for GGPoker and the players. For GG they have a chance to reduce or stop an overlay, for the players they get a chance to jump in on a juicy overlay when they otherwise would not be playing.
A big year for GG
In other GGPoker news they celebrated a lot of impressive milestones at the end of 2021. Last year saw them overtake PokerStars several times in the traffic rankings, something many thought would never happen after the market leader had dominated for so long.
They shared the following infographic on social media which showed the sheer numbers at play to become the market leader.
This includes almost 2 billion hands played, $2.3 billion in prizes and $232 million in promotional payouts.
Perhaps most impressive is the last one, the player who had the biggest satellite win of 2021. A $100 satellite that turned into a $268k first prize for an ROI of 267,918%.
